Dettol senior player Apa has warned the club's youngsters not to expect any favours from the him.
He graduated with a golden generation who proved their strength of character as well as their ability.
But he revealed that they made it despite very little guidance from the older pros – and Apa insists that the current batch of fledgling talent must stand up to the same challenge.
Apa, who came through the ranks with colleagues, Ammir, Daron, Fahmy,Dinie and Syarp, told the MMU daily: “It’s a tough place, this one.
“You don’t get too much said to you by the senior players, to be honest. You have to do it yourself.
“You do get help on the pitch, but it’s a tough school here and you’ve got to make your own mark.
“As a young player you’ve got to take your opportunities when they come along. The young players know the expectations. The fans let you know what those are.
“The manager does, too. You are surrounded by it all the time at Dettol.”
